Icelandic nature is unspoilt, exotic and mystical with its spouting geysers, active volcanoes, tumbling waterfalls, towering mountains, vast lava plains and magical lakes. Iceland’s fjords, glaciers and highland plains present visitors with some of the most beautiful and enchanting places they will ever see, as well as a rare feeling of utter tranquillity.
Iceland supports a surprisingly diverse Nordic flora and fauna and is an ideal place for birdwatching enthusiasts, while also offering some of the world’s best whale watching destinations.
I planned this personalised tour 6 months back before the trip as i was completely confident that i can design it as per my choice and i did it .
My itinerary was like this :
Day 0 : Late night flight from Kolkata to Delhi . From Delhi , flight to Helsinki , Finland. Service of FinAir was quite good and flying experience was really comfortable as well.
Day 1 : Fly from Helsinki to Reykjavik , Iceland . Reached Reykjavik in the afternoon . I pre-booked the bus service to the city which was awesome , super comfortable , hassle free and best in price . It was very smooth checking in Reykjavik Hotel. I stayed at street number 13 which is centre of the city .
Day 2 : Golden Circle Classic tour in day time and Aurora hunting tour in the evening , Night stay at Reykjavik
Day 3 & 4 : I took the two days round trip to South Coast and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon tour , Stayed at Vik during our stay .
Day 5 : Whale watching tour in the morning from Reykjavik , in the afternoon , visited Blue Lagoon . At night I had aurora hunt tour again.
Day 6 : Whole day Snæfellsnes Peninsula tour and return to Reykjavik .
Day 7 : Local city tour , in the evening , flight back to Helsinki.
